ASHTAS Operative eLearning and Test Australia
15 October - 31 December
As an operative, you are a member of the installation crew actively installing Road Safety Barrier (RSB) under supervision. This course is the starting point of achieving Barrier installer-specific training as set out in the Austroads Safety Hardware Training and Accreditation Scheme (ASHTAS)
This E-Learning course is broken into five sections; the four modules of learning and a separate online examination.
The course is approximately 5 hours in length.
The four modules reflect the core learning outcomes of this course.
These are:
- Module one, which provides a general overview and the role various parties play within this training scheme, including you.
- Module two provides an introduction to the Scheme. It provides some basic information regarding how the scheme is structured, how individuals can progress through the scheme, and a section on quality.
- Module three looks at Road Safety Hardware performance and use.
- Module four covers highway terminology and elements of the barrier system, and how this fits with your activities.
Following the learning you will undertake a multi-choice test and must answer at least 24 (80%) questions correctly to pass out of the 40 questions. You have one hour to complete the test once you have logged in. If you fail the test you can re-sit it after 21 days. The re-sit fee is $200.
