DESCRIPTION:As an operative\, you are a member of the installation crew actively installing a Road Safety Barrier (RSB) under supervision. This course is the starting point of achieving Barrier installer-specific training as set out in the Austroads Safety Hardware Training and Accreditation Scheme (ASHTAS) \nThis E-Learning course is broken into five sections; the four learning modules and a separate online examination. \nThe course is approximately 5 hours in length. \nThe four modules reflect the core learning outcomes of this course. \nThese are: \n\nModule one provides a general overview and the role various parties play within this training scheme\, including you.\nModule two provides an introduction to the Scheme. It provides some basic information regarding how the scheme is structured\, how individuals can progress\, and a section on quality.\nModule three looks at Road Safety Hardware performance and use.\nModule four covers highway terminology and elements of the barrier system\, and how this fits with your activities.\n\nFollowing the learning you will undertake a multi-choice test and must answer at least 24 (80%) questions correctly to pass out of the 40 questions. You have one hour to complete the test once you have logged in. If you fail the test you can re-sit it after 21 days. The re-sit fee is $200. \nThe test is taken under Proctored exam conditions (PLEASE READ BELOW) \nPlease ensure you follow these conditions during the assessment. Not adhering to these conditions will result in the exam being voided. \n\n\n You must not wear headphones or earphones\nQuestions or answers must not be read out loud\nYou must be in a room on your own\nYou should not leave the room at any point during the assessment\nYou should not confer or speak with others\nYou should not use mobile phones or the Internet at any time\nYou should not use any training materials or notes unless specifically advised\nThe environment must be clear of all paperwork and your phone must be turned off\nID is mandatory (e.g.\, a driver’s license or passport)\n\nYou can only use online proctor support for IT issues during the exam\nYou will require a steady internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 1.5 Mbps. We strongly recommend using an ethernet cable to ensure a stable connection. \nResults will only be fully confirmed once Lantra has carried out quality assurance on the assessment. \n\nA workbook will be provided at the start of the training and a laptop or tablet running Chrome\, Edge\, Firefox\, iOS\, or Safari\, will be required for the test. We do have computers available\, should you need them to complete the test. \nPayment of $537.00 + GST AUD is required before access will be provided to the learner. Learning material will normally be provided within 24 hours to the learner following payment.

Day one is the Installer A workshop and day two is the Installer B modules for Semi-rigid\, Flexible\, and Terminals/Crash Cushions. \nOn completion of this workshop\, the candidate will: \n\nUnderstand the general requirements for installation\, inspection\, maintenance\, and repair of Road Safety Barrier Systems (RSBS)\nHave an understanding of the Installer Requirements within the ASHTAS Training Framework\nBe able to use the e-logbook to gather evidence for the Installer qualification\nReady to complete their eLogbook for the practical assessment in Semi-rigid\, Flexible\, and Terminals/Crash Cushions\n\nThe areas covered within the workshop: \n\nASHTAS e-logbook\nSite Safety\nTypical Installer Activities\nSetting Out\nPlant & Equipment\nEarthworks & Foundations\nAnchorages\nFasteners\nVerification of Installation\nHandover\n\nThe learner will complete a knowledge evaluation at the end of each module. Following the successful completion of the Installer A test they will be issued an updated eCard from their previous Operative eCard status. As an operative\, you support the installation process under supervision\, and this course provides the essential foundation required to progress through the Austroads Safety Hardware Training and Accreditation Scheme (ASHTAS). \nCourse Format \nThis online learning programme is delivered through five sections: \n\nFour learning modules\nOne online examination\n\nTotal learning time is approximately 5 hours. \nLearning Modules \nThe four modules cover the core knowledge required for Operative-level competency: \nModule 1 – Introduction & Roles \nAn overview of the training scheme and the responsibilities of each party involved — including your role as an operative. \nModule 2 – Understanding the Scheme \nHow ASHTAS is structured\, how individuals progress through the pathway\, and the importance of quality in barrier installation. \nModule 3 – Road Safety Hardware Performance \nKey concepts around barrier performance\, system behaviour\, and correct use. \nModule 4 – Highway Terminology & Barrier Components \nEssential terminology\, barrier system elements\, and how these relate to your day‑to‑day installation activities. \n  \nOnline Examination \nAfter completing the learning modules\, you will sit a 40‑question multi‑choice test. \n\nPass mark: 24/40 (80%)\nTime allowed: 1 hour\nRe‑sit: Available after 21 days (fee: $230)\nAssessment method: Online proctored exam\n\nResults are confirmed only after Lantra completes quality assurance. \n  \nProctored Exam Requirements (Important) \nTo maintain the integrity of the assessment\, the following conditions must be met.\nFailure to comply will result in your exam being voided. \n\nNo headphones or earphones\nDo not read questions or answers aloud\nYou must be alone in the room\nDo not leave the room during the exam\nNo talking or communication with others\nNo mobile phones or internet browsing\nNo notes\, training materials\, or reference documents\nYour workspace must be clear of paperwork\nYour phone must be turned off\nValid photo ID is required (driver’s licence or passport)\n\nOnline proctor support is available only for technical issues. \n  \nTechnical Requirements \n\nStable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 1.5 Mbps\nEthernet connection is strongly recommended\nLaptop or tablet running Chrome\, Edge\, Firefox\, iOS\, or Safari\nA workbook is provided at the start of training\nComputers are available onsite if required for the exam\n\n  \nPayment & Access \nCourse fee: $650.00 + GST NZD \nAccess to the learning platform is provided once payment is received.\nLearning materials are normally issued within 24 hours of payment.
