
ASHTAS Operative Course Hamilton

As an operative, you are a member of the installation crew actively installing a Road Safety Barrier (RSB) under supervision. This course is the starting point of achieving Barrier installer-specific training as set out in the Austroads Safety Hardware Training and Accreditation Scheme (ASHTAS)
The course will cover the basics of barriers and provide a basic understanding of the accreditation scheme.
- Module 1: Overview of the parties involved and learning outcomes
- Module 2: Introduction to the Scheme, training requirements, and a brief history of road restraint systems and the quality control, assurance, and standards.
- Module 3: System Performance and Testing
- Module 4: Terminology and installation requirements.
Following the learning, you will undertake a multi-choice knowledge assessment and must answer at least 24 (80%) questions correctly from 40 questions. You have one hour to complete the test once you have logged in. If you do not get 80% or more, you can re-sit it after 21 days. The re-sit fee is $200.
A digital copy of the workbook will be provided before training, which you can print if you like, and a laptop or tablet running Chrome, Edge, Firefox, iOS, or Safari will be required for the test. We do have a limited number of computers available, should you need them to complete the knowledge assessment.
Payment of $480+GST is required before attendance at the Workshop.
